variety of seminars that could help to further their career.

PITCHING STORY IDEAS FOR MOTION PICTURES By Ron Newcomer at 10:00 am

Ever wonder how to sell an idea for a television or film project? Ron will share insight on how pitching is an art form that takes a lot of acting skills and requires the same set of tools. Professor Newcomer, of the ASU – Theatre Arts department, spent ten years in development with Robert Wise Productions, Max Youngstein Productions, and Bungalow 78 Production at Universal.

MODELING: THE INSIDE SCOOP By Aimee Sugar at 10:00 am

SIM Models/Talent Agency owner Aimee Sugar will share insight into what it takes to break into the modeling industry. Learn about the differences between runway and print work. Ask two of SIM’s top models everything you’ve wanted to know about this industry.

THE RIGHT AGENT FOR YOU By Matt Englehart at 10:45 am

Matt, of the Ford/RBA Agency, will cover the basics of what talent agents do; the benefits of working with an agent; and red flags to avoid when seeking representation. He will discuss the submission process, what he looks for when selecting new actors, and will also cover modeling basics.

ACTING FOR THE CAMERA By Marla Finn and Peter Stelzer at 10:45 am

Marla is a leading voice-over  and on-camera actress, locally and nationally. She has voiced and acted in thousands of radio and TV commercials, network cartoons, movies of the week, feature films, and stage. Peter is a multi Emmy Award winning television producer, and former VP of Ted Danson's Anasazi Productions at Paramount and Dreamworks. Learn from these professionals essential techniques that every actor needs to know to work in television and film.

AUDITION TIPS By Darlene Wyatt, CSA at 11:30 am

Casting Society of America casting director Darlene Wyatt will teach you everything you have ever wanted to know about auditioning but were afraid to ask. Topics will include preparation, appropriate dress and demeanor. These tips will lead to greater success at your next audition.

IMPROV(ing) AS AN ACTOR By Jef Rawls at 11:30 am

Scared to death of working without a script???  Embrace your fears with techniques that'll get you through ANY improvised audition, whether on camera or on stage.   Everyone everyday of their life does improv (you don't have a script for life, do you?).  With over 2,000 improvised performances Jef will give you the tools you need to IMPROV(e) as an actor.

Larry is a well-known and respected public speaker, trainer and television and radio personality. Beginner and advanced professionals alike will find out what effective tools are useful to guide him/her through any voice-over challenge imaginable.

IMPROVISATIONAL ACTING: Discovery & the Craft By Matt Rosin at 12:15 pm

Join 15 year improv veteran Matt Rosin as he discusses the fascinating world of improvisational technique. Topics include relevance to scripted work, characterization, deep tissue listening, and confronting your fears when working without a script.

INDIE FILM PRODUCTIONS By Joe Gruberman & Dana Skvarek at 1:00 pm

Filmmakers Joe Gruberman and Dana Skvarek discuss the challenges of independent filmmaking, squeezing high production value out of small budgets, and finding the talent, time and money to make your dream project a reality. Dana is in the process of filming Assassin.

ON CAMERA COMMERCIALS By Elayne Stein at 1:00 pm

Elayne has used her thirty+ years of experience working in film, radio and television to become one of Arizona’s premier on-camera coaches and dialect specialists. Get direct information and techniques to enhance your on-camera abilities.

GETTING INTO THE BIZ By Dani Green at 1:45 pm

Dani Green, of Dani’s Agency, will enlighten new comers to the industry on the proper way to get into the industry and how to really get an agent. She will educate you on the pitfalls that a lot of people fall into if they don’t do their homework. Don’t miss this half-hour of information that can save you thousands of dollars and a lot of time.

HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT By Shalynn Reynolds at 1:45 pm

Take a quick trip into the wonderful world of Stage Combat. Learn beginning moves and the basics of how to make stage fighting look real without all the pesky pain.

KIDS IN THE BIZ By Hunter Gomez and Dustin Leighton at 2:30 pm

You’ve seen Hunter on ABC’s According to Jim and he earned a Young Artists Award nomination for Leading Young Actor for his role in National Treasure. Hunter and Dustin Leighton, a national voice talent and representative of the Leighton Agency, will cover important topics young performers and their parents are faced with, from finding an agent, to the audition process, to onset issues and etiquette.

MONOLOGUES AS DUOLOGUES By Donna DeCarl and Dawn Reilly at 2:30 pm

This workshop will concentrate on bringing words to life through monologue. How to change your delivery from "information giving" to "live and in the moment". These techniques are a must for any audition.

STUNTS & SAFETY By Rodd Wolff and Sherry Leigh at 3:15 pm

This workshop is for everyone who expects to work on a set, especially where action sequences are going to be filmed. Learn the aspects of stunt safety from Arizona’s top stunt performers.

STAND UP COMEDY By Tony Vicich at 3:15 pm

Tony will share the secrets of stand up comedy and ten easy steps to joke writing. You’ll learn a simple method that will have you writing jokes on your first try. You will instantly understand humor structure and comedy will be born.
